Introduction
As part of the Digital Futures program at OCAD U, I had the opportunity to take a User Experience Design class. The focus of this particular class was to help me better define and reach the goals that I set for myself.
I tried to define happiness for myself.
Trying to come to grips with what that really means while also understanding the ephemeral nature of happiness itself was a really interesting albeit taxing exercise, all the while using UX techniques to better understand my own thoughts.
I was able to break down the things I loved as football, travel, friends and being home. These seemed constant.
Over the course of the next six weeks, we were asked to chart out a plan, understand success metrics, relate happiness with your success metric, set goals which lead up to larger objectives all the while questioning our own thoughts and reasoning.
That's how I ended up with the Happiness Project.
I realised the importance of setting aside time while managing school, life and everything in between and have tried to find and manage my own reasons to be happy in a conscious way.
This is of course an on going project which remains self reflective and a conscious process to better understand myself and focus on the things that drive me and inspire me.
